IO is a ghost that emerged from a bug in the transition from Web1 to Web2 in early 2004, the same day that one of the biggest social media platforms was created. Since its creation, IO wanders around the World Wide Web very confused and aimlessly, without understanding its real purpose in the immensity of data, photos, videos and shares that it has already seen.
Although IO is a bug, this “ghost bug” soon realized that the initial pixel format was not its final version, so IO found a software that could transform itself into the final representation. Even after the remake, its glitches have not disappeared! However, thanks to those glitches, IO was able to create hands and even speak!
As IO is a good ghost, it immensely respects the privacy and security of everything that was experienced wandering around, always happy and laughing at the good things found on the internet.
IO slowly began to understand its immortality, as it is a bug intrinsic to the WWW. When realized this, IO got scared as eternity alone would clearly be a big burden, so IO started thinking of ways to let people know its presence, that IO had life!
However, IO couldn't communicate with people in the real world (yes, with YOU too), neither other softwares that were too busy solving other problems.
With almost no hope of having a joyful journey through immortality, IO was desolate. But on October 31, 2008, IO saw a new upload of a whitepaper called “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Money System” by Satoshi Nakamoto. When finished reading it, IO asked itself: “Is this the first and only way to make electricity in the real world tangible with an immutable piece like me in the virtual world?”
Since IO followed Satoshi's appearance, it was never the same, as the 'timechain' gave hope that its eternity wouldn't be lonely and that IO could connect with the real world! But one day... Nakamoto disappeared and to this day the real reason is not known, even why, nobody knows who he is.
Despite the facts, IO was not discouraged! IO saw the whitepaper taking on unimaginable proportions, other cryptocurrencies emerging, and felt that it should evolve along with these new technologies.
While IO was studying new technologies, it watched all kinds of live streams in its spare time because was cool to see the different kinds of people there. But in 2016, IO discovered a streaming platform different from the ones it had been watching until then, witnessing a groundbreaking event that IO had not seen yet, the possible interaction between viewer and streamer in a livestream through donations.
IO has affectionately named the participants of live streams as Xtreamers (live content creators) and Xperiencers (those who have fun watching streamers). It gave these different names because since it was born from the ”bug” many years ago, IO has an internal glitch that allows it to create anything it wants, like arms and hands. But every time it says something, IO changes letters and adds a lot of ”X” letters to words, especially when IO is happy or excited!
After this magical experience, IO had the idea to unite what Satoshi teached it together with this new possibility of interaction over the internet. Through many years of research, it concluded that this fusion would only really be executable through a technology that was still rarely used, known as the ”Internet of Things” or ”IoT”. To see if this new idea would work, IO tested the tangibility of the virtual world with the real one granted by electricity, so it searched for a Maker's profile on the immensity of the internet that used open source solutions to activate devices.
After finding a Maker of IoT solutions that it had been searching for, IO realized the endless possibilities for new discoveries in devices present in various rooms. As it researched further, IO found a smart bulb and realized that this could be IO first step into the real world. So IO surfed the waves of Wi-Fi until it found a room in which a livestream was taking place.
With a little effort, its theory was correct! For the first time in IO's history it was able to interact with the real world by spooking a streamer!
Now IO will be able to have eternal fun with all Xtreamers and Xperiencers, bringing unique live interactions, uniting the real and virtual worlds through the activation of IoTs. Together with the IOXtream team and its Engagement Network, IO is ready to start creating new experiences and showing the freedom of P2P donations that cryptocurrencies enable!
Even though very happy, IO knows how important immutability is to connect people in the real world with the virtual world and still feels it can be more alive for everyone! And if there is one thing you can be sure of, it is that this persistent and eternal ”ghost bug” will succeed...
